Technical Writing

I believe that there are 5 key traits to achieving success in technical writing, and I continually work to to cultivate and expand these strengths, which are:

  1. Precision: Writing focused, task-oriented and user-oriented technical documentation that helps the end user accomplish their goals with little need for outside assistance; reduction in the number of "call drivers.”

  2. Reliability: Habitually conducting targeted research to ensure that my writing and instructional materials are accurate, complete, and usable for print and web applications.

  3. Intuition: Knowing when to speak up and ask questions to avoid information gaps and set realistic expectations for the client and the team.

  4. Self-motivation: Thriving in deadline-driven, fast-paced environments, and finding that extra bit of energy at the end of a dynamic project to ensure that I've delivered on my commitments to my team and my clients.

  5. Mentoring: Leading individuals and teams to achieve successful outcomes.
